Tuckwood cinema was opened on February 14, 1999 - just a month before the NATO bombings of Serbia started. It was the first film house that opened in Belgrade after the collapse of Yugoslavia. The name 'Tuckwood' combines the owner's company name with a nod to the California film industry. Tuck Vision was the largest film distributor in Serbia at the time. The font of the front sign looks very similar to the famous sign on the hills of Hollywood.
